The Pitahaya is more commonly referred to as the dragon fruit. It is an stunningly beautiful fruit with an intense color and shape, magnificent flowers and a delicious taste. The dragon fruit is usually a dark red color, although some types of this fruit are pink or yellow. The skin is usually covered in scales, and the center of the fruit is made up of a red or white, sweet tasting pulp.
Because it is rich in vitamin C, pitahaya can help improve the immune system. The fruit is served chilled and cut in half. Scoop out the flesh and seeds much like a kiwi fruit.
